• Long-standing health care disparities and inequities continue to face individuals who are American Indian/Alaskan native or live in rural communities.

• Systemic inequities, economic disadvantages, and environmental exposures prevent individuals and their communities from achieving optimal health, leading to differences in health outcomes.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify examples of health care disparities facing rural and tribal communities.
  2. Understand the role of systemic inequities in health care disparities.
  3. Understand the impact of social determinate of health on health of rural and tribal communities.

AOA Credit
The Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. The Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine designates this program for a maximum of 6 AOA Category 1-A credit(s), and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

 

 Proper Prescribing Credit

 This program meets the requirements for approval of (1) hour of CME credit by the Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners and (1) hour of CME credit by the Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

 

 AAFP Credit

The AAFP has reviewed 2022 Symposium on Tribal and Rural Innovation in Disparities and Equity for Health (STRIDE) conference and deemed it acceptable for up to 6.00 Live AAFP Prescribed credits. Term of Approval is from 09/10/2022 to 09/10/2022. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1. 

Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy
This program has been evaluated and approved by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy for a maximum of 6 hours of CE credit.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received prior to August 31st will receive a refund less a $50 cancellation fee. Once the conference has begun no refunds will be granted for cancellations. If you wish to cancel and request a refund in accordance with the above Cancellation/Refund policy, send an email to [email protected]

OSU-CME reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded.
