Overview

The goal of the 2024 Virtual Primary Care Update is to provide primary care providers with the latest in practice guidelines over a wide variety of frequently encountered topics and disease processes. Program participants will then apply the knowledge gained back to their existing rural, suburban or urban practice allowing them to bridge the gap between previous therapies and the current best practices.

This 20 hour conference will be available virtually from November 4 - December 4, 2024. During this time period, you can complete the conference's CME requirements at your own pace.

Proper Prescribing:

As a registered attendee, you will automatically be enrolled in the Proper Prescribing Livestream Webinar, presented by C. Scott Anthony, DO on Friday, November 15th from 12:00-1:00pm CST.

*In order to participate in the Proper Prescribing session, you must be registered for the 2024 Virtual Primary Care Update by 10:00am CST on November 15, 2024.

If you are unable to attend the livestream session, you can still earn your AOA Category 1-A credit for this session, but will not be eligible for OSBOE proper prescribing credit.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Utilize the latest guidelines effectively in the management of common primary care conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and adherence to evidence-based practices.
  2. Enhance patient communication skills and quality of care by applying tools acquired from the program across a diverse range of patient concerns and medical conditions.
  3. Recognize recent advancements in primary care, including both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities, and integrate them into clinical practice to provide comprehensive and up-to-date care to patients.
  4. Identify and incorporate non-pharmacologic therapeutic options, such as osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) techniques and community-based resources, into everyday practice to address patient needs and enhance holistic care delivery.

This program meets the requirements for approval of (1) hour of CME credit by the Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.

Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision (Allopathic Physicians and Physician Assistants)

This educational activity meets the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure & Supervision annual licensure renewal requirement for 1 hour of education in pain management or 1 hour of education in opioid use or addiction.

Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy

This program has been evaluated and approved by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy for a maximum of 15 hours of CE credit. 

Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (Veterinarians)

This program meets the requirements for approval of (1) hour of CME credit by the Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
