Overview

Join us for this in-person proper prescribing lecture at OSU-CN presented by Natasha Bray, D.O. During this hour we will explore the history of opioid use and the need for responsible prescribing.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand the historical context and current statistics surrounding the opioid epidemic and prescribing patterns.
  2. Analyze the importance of assessing and treating acute, subacute, and chronic pain independently ofopioiduse.
  3. Evaluate the necessity of offering or arranging treatment with evidence-based medications for patients with OUD.
  4. Understand OK Senate Bills 1446 & 848
  5. Create strategies for tapering or discontinuingopioids in patients who have used them long-term.
