Creating Safe Spaces: Building Resilient School Communities Creating safe schools requires a comprehensive, multi-tiered approach that promotes prevention, early intervention, crisis response and recovery. This conference will highlight practical, sustainable strategies that help schools maximize limited staffing and resources while strengthening support for students, staff, and families. Participants will examine the relationship between physical and psychological safety and learn practical strategies for building supportive school climates that promote belonging, resilience, and well-being. Sessions will include local Oklahoma schools and mental health professionals sharing real-world lessons, challenges, and solutions.

1. Analyze the relationship between physical and psychological safety, and identify tiered supports to integrate into crisis prevention and intervention school safety practice.
2. Apply behavioral threat assessment, suicide prevention, and return to learn protocols to coordinate sustained recovery support for students, staff, and families.
3. Identify practices to stregthen school-wide mental health MTSS to allocate limited school personnel and resources according to student need, particularly in rural and high-need districts.
4. Develop burnout-prevention strategies and peer group supervision practices to strengthen interprofessional collaboration among school- and community-based mental health teams.
