Overview

The goal of the 2024 Emergency Medicine Review is to provide emergency physicians with the latest in evidence-based medicine practices. Program participants will then apply the knowledge gained back to their existing rural, suburban or urban practice allowing them to bridge the gap between previous therapies and the current best practices.

This 20 hour conference will be available virtually from June 3-27, 2024. During this time period, you can complete the conference's CME requirements at your own pace.

Proper Prescribing:

As a registered attendee, you will automatically be enrolled in the Proper Prescribing Livestream Webinar, presented by C. Scott Anthony, DO on Friday, June 21st from 12:00-1:00pm CST.

*In order to participate in the Proper Prescribing session, you must be registered for the 2024 Virtual Emergency Medicine Review by 10:00am CST on June 21, 2024.

If you are unable to attend the livestream session, you can still earn your AOA Category 1-A credit for this session, but will not be eligible for OSBOE proper prescribing credit.

Accreditation

AOA Credit

The Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. The Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine designates this program for a maximum of 20 AOA Category 1-A credit(s), and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Osteopathic Specialty Credits

This conference is eligible for 1 Preventive Medicine (AOBPM), 1 Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology (AOBOO), 2 Internal Medicine (AOBIM) specialty credits.

AAFP Credit 

The AAFP has reviewed 2024 Virtual Emergency Medicine Review Conference and deemed it acceptable for up to 20.00 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credit(s). Term of Approval is from 06/03/2024 to 06/27/2024. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.

Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy

This program has been evaluated and approved by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy for a maximum of 15 hours of CE credit. 

Oklahoma Emergency Medical Services Board 

This program has been submitted for review and determination of credits is pending. 

Proper Prescribing Credit

Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners (Osteopathic Physicians)

This program meets the requirements for approval of (1) hour of CME credit by the Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.

Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision (Allopathic Physicians and Physician Assistants)

This educational activity meets the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure & Supervision annual licensure renewal requirement for 1 hour of education in pain management or 1 hour of education in opioid use or addiction. 

Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (Veterinarians)

This program meets the requirements for approval of (1) hour of CME credit by the Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. 

Oklahoma Emergency Medical Services Board 

 Approved for up to 20 credits to be applied towards EMS CEUs. 

MATE Act - DEA

The lecture titled, Appropriate Management of Chronic Opioid Therapy, meets the new Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act requirements from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for training on substance use disorders. Providers planning to receive or renew their DEA registration can earn 1 hour towards their 8 hour MATE requirement by participating.
