Join us for this live stream proper prescribing lecture presented by Rachel Wirginis, D.O.  During this hour we will explore the history of opioid use and the need for responsible prescribing.

1. Understand the Opioid Epidemic and the scope and impact of the opioid crisis on public health.
2. Review the legal and ethical considerations of opioid prescribing including federal and state guidelines as well as patient consent and the responsibility of clinicians.
3. Discover the benefits of collaborating with Addiction Specialists, Reducing the Risk of poisoning, and Addressing the Stigma Surrounding Addiction
4. Understand Oklahoma senate bill 1446 and 848.

The Proper Prescribing lecture meets the new Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act requirements from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for training on substance use disorders. Providers planning to receive or renew their DEA registration can earn 1 hour towards their 8 hour MATE requirement by participating.
