Overview

Lighting the Way in Pediatric Mental Health is a one-day conference focused on advancing collaborative care in pediatric and maternal mental health. This event brings together medical providers, behavioral health professionals, and community partners from across Oklahoma to help shape a stronger coordination of care, improve access, and enhance outcomes for children and families. Participants will engage in networking and connection, attend expert-led sessions, and gain resources on evidence-based practices and culturally responsive approaches to support daily practice.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify how collaborative care models improve early identification, access to services, and outcomes for pediatric and maternal mental health.
  2. Apply evidence-based and culturally responsive screening, assessment, and intervention strategies for pediatric and perinatal mental health concerns within routine clinical and community-based practice settings.
  3. Acquire knowledge in establishing trust and rapport with pediatric patients, and their family members ensuring a professional and psychologically safe environment that holds space for cultural beliefs of patients.
